Vermont Outdoor Communities

Since 2019, the Vermont Outdoor Recreation Economic Collaborative (VOREC), a public/private task force established by Governor Phil Scott, has awarded grants to municipalities and nonprofit organizations for projects to enhance outdoor recreation and foster economic growth. The VOREC Community Grant Program has invested in 32 outdoor recreation projects around the state.

Thanks to a partnership between the Vermont Outdoor Business Alliance (VOBA), Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing (VDTM), and Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation, Vermont Sports Magazine has published three outdoor recreation and business guides profiling the communities receiving awards and putting the spotlight on where to play, shop, stay, and eat.
